This year’s event included the Deer Springs Fire District, along with many other Law Enforcement, Medical, and Safety Agencies, for the 2nd Annual Safetyfest that was held this past October 15th from 9am to 5pm.
The event kicked off with a 5k Run and 1 Mile Walk at 7:30am before continuing throughout the day as the largest open house in all of San Diego with fire and emergency exhibits for the kids, live demonstrations from our local fire department, health vendors offering free advice and literature, and even food and folk-art vendors. There were bounce houses, pumpkin patches, face painting, and pony rides, just in time to get everyone in the mood for Halloween. The CalFire helicopter landed for the kids to explore and the firemen cut apart a car using the Jaws of Life. All of this was for free and open to the public! Did you miss it? NO PROBLEM. The event will return next October and promises to be even bigger and better!
